The small town of Deryneia is situated between Paralimni to the south and Famagusta to the north. Famagusta was once the jewel of the Mediterranean but is now a ”ghost town” in the occupied North, only a few miles from Protaras.

Cyprus will, one day, reunite and the area is ideally placed to benefit from the huge economic regeneration of Famagusta that will result. Indeed, the Greek Cypriot community believes that as a first step towards eventual reunification an agreement will be reached to hand back Famagusta in the not too distant future.
